Sunburst Shutters was established in the early '70s in Phoenix, AZ, by people who conceived that they could make a better shutter than any other in the industry.

Sunburst provided an in-home consultation where design specialists brought samples into a customer’s home to walk them through selecting the best window treatment product. In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the common window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters introduced customers to a more enduring and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters. 

At the beginning, the company offered wood shutters only. But it was instantly obvious that Sunburst should make the ultimate shutter – one that provides premium energy efficiency, and looks as exquisite 20 years from now as the day you bought it. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst released its Polywood Shutters. 

Once Sunburst offered the premium shutters on the market, they grew extensively, opening stores across the US. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters expanded its collection into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
